Delivery & Payment

We keep this simple: you pay the real cost of moving the goods, and we tell you what that is before you commit.

Nairobi and the metro

Orders confirmed before about two in the afternoon on a working day normally go out the same day. Small parcels travel by motorbike; anything above roughly fifty kilos goes by pickup. Industrial Area, Kariobangi, Ruaraka, Embakasi, Westlands, Karen, Rongai, Kikuyu, Kitengela, Ruiru, Juja and the Thika Road corridor are all routine. Riders are told not to lay drums on their side, and acids never travel with alkalis in the same box.

Upcountry

For Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kisii, Kakamega, Nyeri, Meru, Embu, Machakos, Kitui, Malindi, Mombasa and the rest, we use the courier and parcel services that already run those routes. Small consignments usually arrive the next day; drums move on a transporter and take a day or two longer. We send you the waybill number the moment the parcel is booked so you can follow it yourself rather than phoning us.

Freight is charged at cost. We do not add a margin on delivery, partly because it makes upcountry customers suspicious and partly because the courier receipt is easy to check.

Collection

Collection from the Ronald Ngala Street store is free and often the quickest option if you are already in town. Tell us roughly when you are coming and the order will be weighed, packed and labelled before you arrive. There is loading space at the rear for drums.

Packing and how things travel

Pails are sealed and shrink-wrapped. Powders go in lined bags. Sulphonic acid, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda and hypochlorite are packed in their own outer, with the hazard clearly marked, and we will not put them in a shared carton with fragrance or packaging. If a container arrives damaged, photograph it before opening and we will replace it.

Paying

M-Pesa

The commonest route. We confirm the order, send the paybill details and the exact amount, and dispatch once the confirmation message comes through. For larger sums, bank transfer avoids the daily transaction limits.

Bank transfer

Suits amounts above the M-Pesa ceiling and anyone whose accounts department needs a paper trail. A proforma invoice is issued first if you need one to release funds.

Local Purchase Order

Schools, hospitals, hotels, counties and established contractors can buy against an LPO on agreed terms. Send the order to the email address on the contact page and we will acknowledge it the same day with a delivery date.

Cash

Accepted at the counter. An ETR receipt is issued on every sale regardless of how you pay.

Returns

Sealed, unopened stock in resaleable condition can come back within seven days against the original receipt. Once a pail has been opened we cannot take it back, there is no way to know what has gone into it, and reselling it would be unsafe. If we sent the wrong material, that is our problem and we will collect and replace it at our cost.
